1988 MX-6 Main Fuse Block & Connector (X-04) Special Service Program --- SSP06Dear Mazda Owner:
This is not the usual kind of letter that we like to write to our customers. However, Mazda Motor Corporation has found it necessary to conduct a special service program for the main fuse block and related connector on certain 1988 MX-6 models.
Mazda has found that some 1988 MX-6 vehicles might have improper installation of electrical terminals in the main fuse block and connector. If this condition is left as it is, there is a possibility that the terminals in question may dislodge from the main fuse block and/or connector thereby causing a malfunction of related electrical circuits. We are now making arrangements for you to have your car checked (and corrected, if necessary) at an authorized Mazda dealer, free of charge, on and after January 22, 1988. The inspection/repair must be completed before January 21, 1989.
It will only take about an hour to complete the inspection (and repair if necessary). However, we recommend that you call your dealer to ask if an appointment is necessary so that any possible inconvenience to you will be minimized.
Any problems encountered in this program should be discussed with your nearest authorized Mazda dealer or Mazda distributor/regional office listed in your Owner's Manual.
We apologize for any inconvenience you are caused by this program. However, to ensure that your vehicle continues to serve you well, it is necessary to conduct this special service program.
Again, we would appreciate your kind understanding regarding this situation.
