[Inspection Procedure] - Main Fuse Block

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Open the main fuse block cover.

3. Remove the fuses (excluding the 80A "Main Fuse" because both of its terminals are fixed) and push downward on each "A" terminal (see Figure 1 & 2) with a piece of wood, plastic, etc. by a force of approximately 15 lbs (7 kg) to verify that the terminal is locked in the fuse block and cannot be pushed out of position.
NOTE
A) Check "A" terminals only.
B) Should the fuses and/or terminals be defective, replace with a new one.

4. If the terminals are firmly locked in the fuse block, reinstall the fuses in the correct position (see the fuse block cover), then close the fuse block cover and mark the cover with a blue dot. Proceed to step B, Inspection of Connector (X-04).

5. If a terminal is not locked in the fuse block and can be pushed out by the procedure in Step 3, follow the repair procedure below.
[Repair Procedure] - Main Fuse Block

1. Remove the bolts and nuts used to install the fuse block.

2. Raise the main fuse block body.

3. Remove the undercover.

4. Pull the faulty terminal out of the fuse block.

5. Bend the lock tab outward to insure that the terminal locks in the fuse block. Insert the spade terminal in the fuse block so that the lock tab fits in the groove (see Figure 5). Insert the terminal fully in the fuse block until it clicks.

NOTE:
Should it become necessary to replace "A" spade terminal make sure that is is replaced with the correct one.
6. After inserting the spade terminal pull the lead wire to verify that the terminal cannot be pulled out of the fuse block.

7. Reinstall the undercover.

8. Reinstall the fuse block and tighten the mounting bolt and nut.

9. Reinstall the fuses in the correct location (see the fuse block cover).

10. Close the fuse block cover and mark the cover with a blue dot.

11. Proceed to Step B.
