[Inspection Procedure] - Connector (X-04)

1. Disconnect the connector (X-04) between front and emission harness.

2. Remove the black vinyl tape and the protective tube covering the wire harness by 1-2 inches, in order to make the inspection easy.

NOTE:
Be sure not to cut the vinyl tape and protective tube with a cutter because they must be used again.

3. Push all wires on the male side of the connector one by one as shown in Figure 7.

4. Pull each wire to confirm that the terminal is locked into the male side of the connector.

5. If no terminal can be pulled out, install the tube and wind the vinyl tape on the wires. Then, apply a blue dot marking on the fuel filter.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

7. If any terminal can be pulled out, proceed to the replacement procedure.

[Replacement Procedure] - Connector (X-04)

1. Use a needle or similar tool to bend the lock tab of the terminal as shown in Figure 8. Then pull out all of the terminals from the connector.

2. Replace the connector (X-04) with a new one.

3. Install all the terminals into the new connector (see Figure 9) until you feel the click.
4. Pull each wire to confirm that the terminal cannot be pulled out.

5. Apply a blue dot on the top of the fuel filter.

6. Install the tube and wind the vinyl tape on the wires.

7. Connect the negative battery cable.
