DESCRIPTION

If you encounter a customer complaint pertaining to a wet floor at front passenger compartment or malfunction of the blower motor due to a burnt out blower motor resistor, refer to the following repair procedure. The problem may be due to water entering through the heater blower cowl under the cowl grill (lower moulding).

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the right side baffle cover under the cowl grill (lower moulding).

2. Install a new baffle cover with modified fasteners after applying 0.08 inch (2 mm) thick of repair sealant (B001 77 739) additionally onto the originally applied sealant as shown.

NOTE:
a) If the repair sealant (B001 77 739) is not available, use equivalent one.

b) If the modified fasteners are not available, reuse the original fasteners applying a small amount of sealant under the fastener head.

3. Reinstall the cowl grill (lower moulding).

4. Replace the blower motor assembly with modified one (waterproof type).

Replace the blower motor resistor if necessary.
