Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Water Thermosensor:

1. Disconnect the water thermosensor connector, then remove the water thermosensor from the engine.

Testing Water Thermosensor:

2. Place the sensor in water with a thermometer and heat the water gradually.
3. Check the resistance of the sensor with an ohmmeter.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE (KOHMS)

-20°C (-4°F) 14.5-17.8
20°C (68°F) 2.2-2.7
80°C (176°F) 0.280-0.350

4. If not as specified, replace the water thermosensor.
5. Install the sensor and connect the water thermosensor connector.
