Rear Wheel Alignment

REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT







PRE-INSPECTION

1. Check the tire inflation and bring it to the recommended pressure.
2. Inspect the wheel and tire runout.
3. The vehicle must be on level ground and have no luggage or passenger load.
4. Check that the suspension is correctly adjusted.
5. The difference in height from the center of the wheel to the fender rim between the left and right sides should be within 10 mm ( 0.39 in ).

TOTAL TOE-IN






Inspection

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle until the tires clear the ground.
2. Turn the wheels by hand and mark a line in the center of each tire tread with a scribing block.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Measure the distance between the marked lines at the front and rear of the tires.

Total Toe-in
2.3 ± 2 mm ( 0.09 ± 0.08 in )






Adjustment

Turn the left and right adjusting bolts the same amount to adjust the toe-in to specification.
To decrease the toe-in, turn the adjusting bolts as follows:
Right link Turn bolt clockwise
Left link - Turn bolt counterclockwise

To increase the toe-in, turn the adjusting bolts as follows:
Right link - Turn the bolt counterclockwise
Left link - Turn the bolt clockwise


Amount of toe-in change:
1 mark =2.9 mm (0.09 in) for one wheel




CAMBER






Preparation
1. Remove the center caps from the wheels.
2. Remove the hubcap.
3. Uncrimp the locknut, then remove it.






Inspection
1. Install the SST onto the driveshaft.









2. Measure the camber angle with caster and camber gauge.

Camber: -0°15' ± 30'
