Ignition Timing: Adjustments
1. Check engine condition (spark plugs, leaks in hoses, etc.).
2. Warm engine to operating temperature and turn all electrical loads "OFF."
3. Connect a tachometer and timing light.

4. Ground test connector (Green: 1-pin) with a jumper wire.
5. Check that idle speed is within specification.
750 ± 25 rpm
6. Adjust idle speed if not within specification. Refer to IDLE SPEED in this section.

7. Check that timing mark (YELLOW) on crankshaft pulley and mark on timing belt cover are aligned.
9° ± 1° BTDC

8. Loosen distributor lock bolt and turn distributor housing to adjust.
10. After adjustment, tighten distributor lock bolt to 14 - 19 ftlb (19 - 25 Nm) and disconnect jumper wire from test connector
