Turbo

1. Release fuel system pressure as follows:
a. Lift up rear floor mat and remove fuel pump cover.
b. Start engine, then disconnect fuel pump connector.
c. Run engine until it stalls, then turn off ignition switch and reconnect fuel pump connector.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then scribe hood hinge locations and remove hood.
3. Drain engine oil and coolant, then remove air intake pipe.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly, then the battery and box.
5. Remove cooling fan and radiator hoses, then the heater return hose.
6. Disconnect coolant level sensor and radiator switch electrical connector.
7. Remove radiator and cowling, then the intercooler.
8. Disconnect accelerator cable, then the cruise control cable, if equipped.
9. Disconnect brake vacuum hose, pressure sensor vacuum hose and relief silencer hose.
10. Disconnect righthand split air pipe, then the oxygen sensor electrical connector.
11. Remove insulator covers, then the front converter upper nut.
12. Disconnect engine harness electrical connectors.
13. Remove power steering pump and A/C compressor with hoses still connected, then secure pump and compressor to one side, as required.
14. Remove compressor and pump drive belts.
15. Disconnect spark plug wires, then the crank angle sensor, alternator and oil pressure gauge electrical connectors.
16. Disconnect engine ground, then the canister hose and heater hose.
17. Disconnect and plug fuel inlet and return hoses.
18. Disconnect heater hose, then the oil cooler pipe and bracket, if equipped.
19. Disconnect clutch release cylinder, if equipped.
20. Raise and support vehicle, then remove engine under cover.
21. Remove catalytic converter insulator, then the split air pipe.
22. Remove exhaust pipe bracket, then the catalytic converter.
23. Remove exhaust pipe and front converter.
24. Remove starter attaching bolts, then the starter.
25. Support engine assembly using a suitable jack, then remove transmission to engine attaching bolts.
26. Remove engine mount, then lower engine from vehicle.
27. Reverse procedure to install.
