Dashpot: Testing and Inspection

Dashpot:

1. Open throttle valve manually all the way.

2. Push plunger into the dashpot. Note that plunger retracts slowly (resistance is felt as air is forced from diaphragm chamber).

3. Release plunger and note that dashpot extends quickly to its fully extended position.

If dashpot does not operate as described, replace it.
