DESCRIPTION
On some 1989 RX-7 Turbo vehicles, the horn wiring harness is installed with incorrect routing. This leads to short-circuit of the horn wiring and results in the horn malfunction.
You are requested to check and repair all the vehicles within the following VIN range at PDI in accordance with the instructions in this bulletin.

CHECKING & REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove three horn cap attaching bolts located on the rear side of the steering wheel.
2. Pull the horn cap slowly out of the steering wheel.
3. Verify that the horn harness is installed through the hole (diameter: 14 mm or 0.55 in.) on the horn cap stay.
4. If the horn wiring harness is installed through the hole, the result is OK; then, reinstall the horn cap slowly into the steering wheel and fasten the three bolts.
NOTE:
Be sure not to damage or pinch the harness during the horn cap installation.
5. If the horn wiring harness does not go through the hole, pull out the connector and put the horn wiring harness through the hole. Then reinstall the horn cap.
NOTE:
If the horn wiring harness has already been damaged, mend it with insulating tape before reinstalling.
