Brake Light Switch: Testing and Inspection
Stop Light Switch Testing:
1. Disconnect stop light switch switch connector.
2. Check switch continuity. With brake pedal depressed, there should be continuity between terminals. With brake pedal released, there should be no continuity between terminals.
3. Replace switch if it does not perform as specified.
Stop light switch input can be checked at ECU terminal 1O, ignition "ON." With pedal released, terminal voltage should be below 1.0V. With pedal depressed, voltage should be approximately 12V.
