This transmission is fully automatic unit consisting primarily of a three element hydraulic lock-up torque converter and three planetary gear sets, Fig. 2. Three multiple disc clutches, a multiple disc brake, two brake bands, and one-way clutch provide the friction elements required for proper functioning of the three planetary gear sets.
