Subject:
ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL

DESCRIPTION

Damaging the engine rear oil seal while assembling the flywheel (M/T) or counterweight (A/T) may cause an oil leak. The following countermeasures have been implemented since February 28, 1990 production.

a) To prevent damaging the seal, the front edge of the flywheel or counterweight has been smoothed.

b) The color of the engine rear oil seal has changed from blue to orange. Although the orange seal has a slightly higher tension, the part number has not been changed, and either seal can be used.

To prevent oil seal damage, follow the Installation Procedure shown below when replacing the oil seal.
