1990-94 323 vehicles with a VIN of JM1BG2***P0599110 and lower
DESCRIPTION *
On some vehicles the window regulator may be difficult to operate. This condition is caused by the window sticking in the glass run channel.
The procedures in this bulletin supersede those instructions contained in Service Bulletin, Cat S, No. 022/93, released 5/19/93.
The illustration will describe the changes that have occurred to mass production vehicles:
REPAIR PROCEDURE (Vehicles Built Before July 1, 1991)
1. Remove and discard glass run channel.
2. Install flock type glass run channel. Refer to the Parts Information for ordering information.
3. Enlarge the mounting holes of the window regulator. Refer to Fig. 3
4. Install the window regulator with the screws tightened in the enlarged area.
REPAIR PROCEDURE (Vehicles Built After July 1, 1991)
1. Remove the window regulator.
2. Enlarge mounting holes of the window regulator. Refer to Fig. 3
3. Install the window regulator with the screws tightened in the enlarged area. Refer to Fig. 3
4. Install the window regulator with the bolts tightened in the enlarged area. Refer to Fig. 3
5. Confirm repair.
NOTE:
Do Not install the countermeasure window regulator to correct this problem. If the Parts Dept. has inventory of the countermeasure regulators, they should be used as service parts only.
Vehicles Prior To Glass Change (Refer to Change # 4 in the table on page 1): If the countermeasure regulator is installed as a service part, mounting bolts must be tightened in the enlarged Area "A" of the mounting holes. Refer to Fig. 3.
Vehicles After Glass Change: If the countermeasure regulator is installed as a service part, mounting bolts must be tightened in Area "B" of the mounting holes. Refer to Fig. 3.
