Ignition Timing: Adjustments
1. Warm engine to operating temperature.
2. Turn all electrical loads "OFF."
3. Connect a tachometer and timing light.

4. Ground test connector (Green: 1-pin) with a jumper wire.
5. Check that idle speed is within specification. Adjust if needed.
750 ± 25 rpm (M/T in neutral, A/T in "P")
6. Check that timing mark (Yellow) on crank pulley and mark on timing belt cover are aligned.

6° ± 1° BTDC (Vacuum hoses disconnected and plugged)

7. If mark is not aligned, loosen distributor lock bolt and turn distributor to adjust.
8. Tighten distributor lock bolt to 14 - 19 ft lb (19 - 25 Nm).
9. Reconnect vacuum hoses and remove test connector jumper wire.
