Installation

1. Install dust cover and tentatively tighten bolts.
2. Using tools 49B001797, 49F027007 and 49H026104, or equivalents, press in new bearing.
3. Install retaining ring and new oil seal, then apply grease to oil seal lip.
4. Using tools 49F026102 and 49H026104, or equivalents, press on axle flange.
5. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation, noting the following:
a. Install rear lower link and torque wheel side to specification.
b. Install front lower link and torque wheel side to specification.
c. Install upper link and torque wheel side to specification.
d. Install rear hub support, torquing to specification.
e. Loosen dust cover bolts to facilitate installation of parking brake cable and connect cable, torquing to specification, then torque dust cover to specification.
f. Torque caliper attaching bolts to specification.
g. Align mating marks and install driveshaft, torquing to specification.
h. Install disc plate, torquing locknut to specification, then ensure wheel bearing endplay does not exceed .08 inch (.2mm).
i. Stake locknut in groove.
j. Install wheel speed sensor, torquing to specification.
k. Install wheel and lower vehicle, then bounce rear of vehicle several times to seat suspension.
l. Torque lower links at body side; front and rear to specification.
m. Torque upper link, at body side, to specification.
n. Torque stabilizer link to specification.
o. Torque shock absorber to specification.
p. Adjust rear toe in. Refer to Steering and Suspension/Wheels, Tires and Alignment/Adjustments.
