Fuel Pump: Testing and Inspection

Perform checks on fuel pump relay (circuit open relay) first.

If relay checks are OK and fuel pump will not operate, check wiring between relay and pump for open or shorts to ground. Also check fuel pump ground wire for good continuity to ground.

Checking Fuel Pump Directly:

If wiring is OK, check for poor connections at the pump by removing pump from tank and directly applying power and ground to pump terminals. If pump operates, clean or repair electrical connections. If pump still will not operate, replace pump.
