Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Fuel Tank Unit And Hose Connections (View Through Access Panel):

1. 1. Relieve fuel system pressure by starting engine with fuel pump relay (circuit open relay), or fuel pump electrical connector disconnected and let run until engine dies, then slowly and carefully remove hose on outlet side of fuel filter. Cover with a clean rag while removing hose, to avoid spraying fuel in your face.

2. Open trunk lid and lift up floor mat.

3. Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.

4. Remove fuel pump access cover.

5. Disconnect fuel hoses and remove fuel pump/gauge unit from top of fuel tank.

Install in reverse order.
