DESCRIPTION
On some vehicles, a sulfur (rotten egg) odor may be noticed coming from the exhaust system. This occurs when sulfur, present in gasoline, enters the catalytic converter and reacts chemically to form Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) which causes the sulfur odor.
INSPECTION & REPAIR PROCEDURE
If this condition exists, replace with a modified catalytic converter. The procedures are outlined in the Workshop Manual.
