Repair Procedure (929 Ignition Key Light Lens Buzz Noise)







REPAIR PROCEDURE (929 IGNITION KEY LIGHT LENS BUZZ NOISE)


Condition: A buzzing or rattling noise can be heard while driving, which is caused by the light lens rattling inside the column cover.

1) Remove the lower column cover.

2) Remove the two screws that hold the light case, and remove the case from the column cover.

3) Apply a small piece of Butyl tape (or equivalent) to the bottom edge of the lens as shown in the illustration.

4) Reinstall the lens to the column cover.

5) Reinstall the light case to the column cover.

Note: Make sure the lens and case are tightly reinstalled.

6) Reinstall the light, socket and lens case.

7) Reinstall the lower column cover.
