Radiator Cooling Fan Temperature Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

Radiator Thermo Switch

Removal/Inspection/Installation





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note





Inspection:

1. Place the switch and a thermometer in water.
2. Heat the water gradually and check continuity of the switch with an ohmmeter.





3. If not as specified, replace the water thermoswitch.





Installation Note
1. Apply a small amount of engine coolant to the new O-ring.
2. Install the water thermoswitch.

Tightening torque: 52-78 in-lbs
