Transmission Replace

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then disconnect shift rod.
3. Remove undercover, then the exhaust pipe.
4. Scribe reference marks on flanges and remove propeller shaft and install suitable mainshaft holder to prevent oil leakage.
5. Remove speedometer cable and vacuum hose from transmission.
6. Disconnect all transmission electrical connectors.
7. Remove level gauge pipe, then oil cooler pipes.
8. Remove power plant frame (PPF) as follows:
a. Disconnect wire harness from PPF, then support transmission with a suitable jack.
b. Remove front, then rear bolts and pry out spacer.
c. Remove differential mounting spacer bolts, then turn a 14 mm x 1.5 mm bolt into sleeve.
d. Twist and pull bolt downward, then install a 6 mm x 1 mm bolt into hole in block to hold sleeve and remove 14 mm x 1.5 mm bolt.
e. Remove remaining 6 mm x 1 mm bolt. Do not remove upper spacers from PPF at differential, if they are removed, PPF must be replaced as an assembly.
f. Remove PPF.
9. Remove torque converter bolts, then transmission to engine attaching bolts.
10. Lower and remove transmission from vehicle.
