FRONT SUSPENSION NOISE (USA With ATX)
APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
All 1990 through 1992 626 and MX-6 model vehicles built in the USA with ATX.
DESCRIPTION
A knocking noise may be heard when turning the vehicle sharply or driving over a speed bump. The noise is caused by the rubber portion of the front suspension spring seat. Under the above conditions, the rubber separates from the spring seat and causes the noise. Spring seats without the rubber molding are available to correct this condition.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Replace both left and right front suspension spring seats with the modified parts according to the instructions in section R of the workshop manual.
NOTE:
The thrust plates and mounting rubbers must also be replaced when installing the modified spring seat.
