Repair Procedure (626/MX-6 Hood Latch Adjustment)

REPAIR PROCEDURE (626/MX-6 HOOD LATCH ADJUSTMENT)

Condition: The front end of the hood rattles during idle.

1) After sufficient warm-up, let the engine idle and check for hood rattling.

Try different idle conditions - A/C on and off, transmission in drive or neutral, electrical load on and off.

2) If a rattle is detected, adjust the hood latch. Loosen the three bolts, lower the hood latch slightly, and tighten the bolts.

3) Close the hood, and check to see if there is a remaining rattle at idle. Test the hood latch release also, to make sure it functions properly.
