CONTROL VALVE BODY (DISASSEMBLY/INSPECTION)Disassembly/inspection
Caution:
^ Be especially careful when handing the control valve because it consists of the most precise and delicate parts of the transaxle.
^ Neatly arrange the removed parts to avoid confusing the similar parts.
^ Clean the removed parts with cleaning solvent, and dry them with compressed air. Clean out all holes and passages with compressed air.
1. Disassemble in the order shown in the figure, referring to Disassembly procedure.

Disassembly procedure
1. Remove the oil strainer assembly.
2. Remove the O-ring from the oil strainer assembly.
3. Remove the oil pipe assembly.
4. Remove the O-rings from the oil pipe assembly.
5. Remove the shift solenoid A and oil strainer.
6. Remove the torque converter clutch solenoid valve and oil strainer.
7. Remove the shift solenoid B, shift solenoid C and oil strainers.
Note: Loosen the bolts evenly and gradually.
8. Remove the upper control valve body.
9. Remove the screws.
10. Remove gasket B, upper separator plate, oil filter, and gasket A.
11. Remove the throttle relief ball and throttle relief spring from the upper control valve body.
Note: Loosen the bolts evenly and gradually.
12. Remove the main control valve body.
13. Remove the screws.
14. Remove gasket D, main separator plate, and gasket C.
15. Remove the rubber balls from the main control valve body.
16. Remove the premain control valve body.
17. Remove the oil strainer from the premain control valve body.
18. Remove the oil filter, gasket E, lower separator plate, and gasket F.
19. Remove the oil strainer from the lower control valve body.
Inspection
Note: Do not compress the spring when measuring it with vernier calipers.
1. Measure the spring free length.
2. If not within specification, replace the spring.
