For the following procedure, refer to Fig. 7 for assistance.
1. Disable airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2. On coupe models, remove to front garnish above windshield. Then remove center cap and screw. Lift up defroster grilles and pull out. Remove roof support trim panels.
3. On convertible models, remove top lock strikers. Then remove center cap and screw. Lift up defroster grilles and pull out. Remove roof support trim panels.
4. On all models, remove center panel as follows:
a. Remove boot panel, ashtray and center louver.
b. Remove four center panel attaching screws and then center panel.
c. Remove cigarette lighter bulb unit, disconnect connector and remove center panel.
5. Pry up and remove clock bezel. Remove retaining screws, disconnect connectors and remove clock.
6. Drop steering column down from instrument panel by removing lower cover panels and removing tilt steering shaft bolts.
7. Remove five cluster switch panel retaining screws, remove panel and disconnect connectors.
8. Remove four cluster retaining screws, remove cluster and disconnect connectors.
9. Remove center switch panel and disconnect connectors. Remove four rear console retaining screws, then remove rear console.
10. Remove five lower panel retaining screws, disconnect speaker connectors, remove heater ducts and then lower panel.
11. Remove seven glove box screws, then glove box light bulb and box. Then remove side wall attaching screw and pry out side wall.
12. Remove side cover. then remove side panel attaching screw and side panel.
13. On coupes, loosen hood release lever nut and remove hood release lever.
14. On all models, remove 11 instrument panel attaching bolts, disconnect connectors and remove instrument panel.

15. Reverse procedure to install, torque instrument panel bolts to 6.5-9.4 ft.lbs, Fig. 8. Rearm airbag as previously described.
