1. Components of airbag system are not intended to be disassembled for service. If any component is faulty, replace as an assembly.
2. When carrying an undeployed airbag module, make sure trim cover is pointed away from your body.
3. When placing a live airbag module on any surface, always face trim cover upward.
4. If an open circuit is found by a continuity test, replace wire harness. Do not try to repair wiring.
5. When handling a deployed airbag module, wear gloves and safety glasses. Deployed airbag modules may contain deposits of sodium hydroxide.
6. Disconnect clock spring connectors as shown in Fig. 3.
