Airbag Module Deployment

Read warning, refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS prior to performing this procedure.
1. Locate vehicle in a safe, open location and open all vehicle doors and windows.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. verify airbag module is securely attached to the steering wheel.
4. Gain access to lower steering column and locate the clockspring connector.
5. From the passengers side of vehicle, disconnect clockspring connector.
6. Verify condition of deployment.
7. Connect deployment tool to airbag module connector.
8. Move deployment tool away from vehicle 20 feet or more.
9. Connect deployment tool to a vehicle battery.
10. Verify red lamp of deployment tool is illuminated.
11. Clear area of all persons within 20 feet of vehicle.
12. Press activation button and deploy airbag.
13. Dispose of deployed airbag in a vinyl bag, seal it then dispose it.
