DESCRIPTION
A squeal or whine may be heard around the timing belt tensioner after cold starting. This is caused by a decrease in the clearance of the tensioner bearing when tightening the tensioner bolt. To prevent this condition, the bottom thickness of the tensioner has been increased from 5 mm to 8 mm to increase rigidity. The radial clearance of the tensioner bearing has also been increased.
REPAIR PROCEDURES
1. Verify the complaint.
2. If the squealing is heard, replace the tensioner pulley with a new part.
