DESCRIPTION
On rebuilt A/T units, a pin is used for holding the throttle cam in place to make installation of the control valve easier. If a rebuilt A/T is installed without removing the pin, the throttle lever will remain in a fixed position and the throttle cable will not move.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. When installing a rebuilt A/T, be sure to remove the throttle cam pin (Pin A).
2. Also, remove the throttle cam bolt (Bolt B) from the original A/T (unit that is being replaced) and reinstall into the throttle cam of the replacement rebuilt A/T. If needed, this bolt may be ordered separately, under part number FU61 19 423. Bolt B is an allen screw, socket head bolt. See illustration.
When installing the bolt, apply sealant to prevent oil leakage.
NOTE:
Inspect and adjust the throttle cable after installing the rebuilt A/T as outlined in Section K of the applicable Workshop Manual.
