Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

Ignition Coil Resistance Check:

PRIMARY RESISTANCE CHECK

0.77 - 0.95 ohms

^ Check primary resistance across coil terminals as indicated on image. If not within specification, replace coil.

SECONDARY RESISTANCE CHECK

10.3 - 13.9K ohms

^ Check secondary resistance as indicated on image. If not within specification, replace coil.

COIL CASE RESISTANCE CHECK

10M ohms minimum

^ Check insulation resistance between primary terminal and coil case. Replace coil if it does not test as specified.
