Valve Spring

1. Inspect each valve spring for cracks or damage.
2. Measure the free length of each spring, measurement should be 1.720 inch. If not within specification, measure the spring compression pressure when the spring is compressed to 1.398 inch. The pressure reading should be between 47-48 lbs. Replace spring if not within specification.
3. Check spring out of square, replace spring if measurement exceeds 0.060 inch.
