AFFECTED VINS
This bulletin applies to 1992 MX-3 M/T models with a VIN of JM1EC431*N0139355 or lower produced through June 17, 1992.
This bulletin does not apply to 1992 MX-3 M/T models with a VIN equal to or greater than JM1EC431*N0139356 and produced after June 17, 1992.
This bulletin apllies to all 1992 MX-3 A/T models produced through June 30, 1992. 1992 MX-3 models are identified by the letter N in the 10th position of the VIN.
Example:
JM1EC431*N02xxxxx (N = 1992)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience idle fluctuation when applying an electrical load during idle or after deceleration from high rpm.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
If this condition occurs, replace the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with a modified part. Removal and installation procedures are outlined in the applicable Workshop Manual.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
The following ECU core return procedures must be followed to expedite warranty claim processing:
1) Fill out a Warranty Shipping Record form.
2) Ship the old ECU to:

3) Failure to ship the old ECU will result in the denial of the warranty claim.
NOTE:
The above shipping procedures are applicable only to the 1.6L W-3 ECU. Follow normal shipping procedures for all other warranty parts.
