DESCRIPTION

A rattling noise may be heard when the vehicle is in motion and the glove box door is open. This may be due to the positioning of a speed nut that secures the lower panel pulling through the pad.

Production changes have been made since October 8, 1991 to correct this problem. If this problem exists on vehicles produced prior to October 8, 1991, install a new speed nut using the Repair Procedure described in this bulletin and the Workshop Manual, Section S.

REPAIR PROCEDURE





1. Remove the lower panel and the old speed nut according to Workshop Manual procedures, Section S. Figure 1.





NOTE:
Only a part of the U-type speed nut is required to grip the flange as shown in Figure 2.





2. Install new U-type speed nut and reinstall lower panel. Figure 3.
