Window Regulator / Motor Re-Assembly Procedure

REASSEMBLY





1. Inspect frame of window regulator (including cables) and drum for unusual wear or damage. Replace as necessary.

2. Install new adjustment nuts and tighten firmly

3. Insert cables.

^ Guide cables through adjustment nut.

^ Wind cables around drum.

^ Assemble drum to motor.

Note
^ Wind the upper cable three (3) times around drum and lower cable two (2) times around drum.





4. Apply appropriate amount of grease to the drum and install drum cover.





5. Assemble upper cable guide to upper bracket.

Note
^ Compressing tension springs will put slack In cables allowing for easier installation of guide.

6. Install cable ends into carrier plate.

7. Assemble lower cable guide in lower bracket.

8. Insert lower cable guide in the direction indicated until click is heard.

9. Adjust cable tension by turning adjustment nuts. Apply thread locking compound to adjustment bolt's threads.

Note
^ There should be no looseness on the upper side cable "U" and the lower side cable "L." If loose, turn adjustment nuts until the cable is tight. Distance "A" is approximately 0.5 - 7.5 mm.

10. Apply grease to the cable sliding locations and cable ends.

11. Install window regulator assembly according to the workshop manual.
