DIFFICULT OPERATION OF THE POWER DOOR LOCK
AFFECTED VINS
This bulletin applies to vehicles with a VIN of JM1BG****M0235750 or lower produced through, February 29, 1992.
This bulletin does not apply to vehicles with a VIN equal to or greater than JM1BG****M0235751 and produced after February 29, 1992.
DESCRIPTION
On some vehicles, the power door lock may be difficult to operate. The door key cylinder may be difficult to turn or the lock button may be difficult to operate.
This is due to e actuator rod absorbing water and swelling. The swelling causes increased resistance between the rod, gear and drum within the actuator.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
If this condition exists, replace the actuators (passenger and rear doors) with the modified parts.
Removal and installation procedures are outlined in Section S of the applicable Workshop Manual.
PARTS INFORMATION
The part numbers are the same even with the part modification. To identify the correct, modified parts, the part labels have been marked as illustrated.
