PRECAUTIONSExercise caution when performing repairs that may involve disconnecting or removing the audio unit. The anti-theft protection system can be activated by disconnecting the battery cable, audio unit connectors, or a discharged battery. If three consecutive errors occur, the antitheft system will activate and render the audio unit completely inoperative. Always have the ignition in the ACC position when removing audio unit connectors. To cancel the anti-theft operation, it is necessary obtain the radio security code and complete the canceling procedure steps.
1. Turn the ignition switch to Accessory position, then turn off audio unit. "Code" should appear on display.
2. Simultaneously press SCAN and AUTO-M buttons for 1.5 seconds until bars appear on display.
3. Use channel buttons 1 through 4 to input code in each position respectively. If code is not entered within ten seconds, display is deleted and the process must be repeated.
4. With code number displayed, press and hold SCAN and AUTO-M buttons for 1.5 seconds until a beep is heard. "Code" will be displayed for five seconds, then will disappear to indicate audio unit is operative.
