b. Always relieve fuel system pressure before disconnecting fuel lines.

1. Relieve fuel system pressure by starting engine with fuel pump relay (circuit open relay) disconnected and let run until engine dies, then slowly and carefully remove hose on outlet side of fuel filter. Cover with a clean rag while removing hose, to avoid spraying fuel in your face.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion.

3. Disconnect fuel tank gauge unit electrical connector and remove access cover.

4. Disconnect fuel hoses.

5. Lift vehicle and support with jackstands.

6. Remove drain plug and drain fuel into suitable container.

7. Remove insulator cover from front of tank.

8. Disconnect remaining hoses and remove tank.

Install in reverse order.
