Inhibitor Switch

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On MX-3 models, remove resonance duct and air cleaner housing assembly.
3. On Protege and 323 models, remove battery, air cleaner assembly and battery carrier.
4. Remove nut or spring pin and clip, then disconnect selector cable.
5. Rotate manual shaft to N position, then disconnect switch electrical connector.
6. Loosen switch bolts, then connect suitable ohmmeter between terminals A and H.
7. Adjust switch to point where there is continuity between terminals, then torque bolts to 70 - 95 in.lb.
8. Verify selector lever range position switch are aligned, then connect switch electrical connector.
9. Connect selector cable, then install nut or spring pin and clip.
10. On MX-3 models, install air cleaner housing assembly and resonance duct.
11. On Protege and 323 models, install battery carrier, air cleaner assembly and battery.
12. Connect battery ground cable.
