INSTALLING 1994 WINDOW REGULATOR INTO A 1993 MODEL VEHICLE

NOTE:
This bulletin supersedes S-037-94.

APPLICABLE MODEL
All 1993 826 vehicles with power windows.

DESCRIPTION





Front and rear door regulator replacement parts for '93 model year have been discontinued. The part number for the 1993 model regulator has been superseded to the 1994 or later model regulator. Because of physical differences between the regulators, installation is different. (refer to fig. 1)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Two modifications must be made when installing the 1994 regulator in a 1993 vehicle.
^ Relocate the window regulator motor (additional hardware required - three (3) mounting nuts, see parts information).
^ Reroute the window regulator cables.

NOTE:
Service managers must make a copy of this bulletin and place it in the appropriate area of the Workshop Manual. This will ensure that future technicians have access to this information.

Follow the procedures below when installing a 1994 regulator in a 1993 vehicle.

1. Remove door panel.

2. Remove window glass regulator.

3. Locate the three (3) holes in the door skin that are in front of the window regulator's track mounting.





4. Mount the regulator motor using the three (3) holes and the additional hardware. Refer to Fig. 2.

NOTE:
The motor cables must be routed as shown below.

5. Mount the new regulator track in the same position as the original track.

6. Attach door glass to the window regulator.

7. Connect connectors at the regulator motor and power window switch.

8. Cycle the window and confirm proper operation.

9. Install door panel.
