Water Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant. Service and Repair
3. Remove the timing belt. Service and Repair





4. Remove in the order shown in the image.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspect
1. Water pump assembly: Inspect for cracks, damaged mounting surface, bearing condition, and leakage. If the water pump is damaged, replace it. Do not repair it.
2. Water pump gasket.

Steps After Installation
1. Install the timing belt. Service and Repair
2. Fill the radiator with the specified amount and type of engine coolant.
3. Check for leaks.
