Removal

Fig. 1 Front Axle & Related Parts:

1. Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheel.
2. Remove caliper assembly, Fig. 1, brake hose attached, then set aside.
3. Remove dust cap, locknut & washer.
4. Remove disc plate, then dust cover.
5. Remove wheel speed sensor.
6. Remove cotter pin and nut, then, using tie rod tool No. 490118850C, or equivalent, separate tie rod end from knuckle.
7. Separate knuckle arm from spindle, then remove spindle.
8. Drive off knuckle arm.
