Rear Axle Hub & Bearing

1. Remove or disconnect components in the order shown in Figs. 2 and 3, noting the following:
a. Position brake caliper out of way using a piece of wire, leaving brake hose connected.
b. If the driveshaft is stuck in the hub, install a used nut until it is flush with the end of the shaft. Tap the nut with a copper hammer to drive out the shaft.
c. Using a Hydraulic Press and Oil Seal Installer tool No. 49-V001-795 or equivalent, remove axle flange from hub assembly.
d. Do Not damage the axle flange. Grind a section of the bearing race until only 0.0197 inch (0.5mm) thickness remains, then cut the race by using a chisel and remove it.

2. Reverse numerical order shown in Figs. 2 and 3 for installation of components, noting the following:
a. Torque new hub nut to 174-231 ft. lbs., then stake nut as shown in Fig. 4.
