A/C Signal: Description and Operation

A/C Cut-Off System:

PURPOSE
To maintain good driveability with the air conditioning system in operation, the PCME will initiate A/C cut-off under certain driving conditions by de-energizing the A/C clutch relay.

OPERATION
System acts to improve idle smoothness just after starting and to maintain acceleration performance. A/C cut-off operates under these conditions:

^ For approximately 5 seconds just after engine start.
^ For approximately 5 seconds when throttle is fully.
^ For approximately 3 seconds when transmission is shifted from N range to D range.
