Variable Induction System: Testing and Inspection

SYSTEM CHECK

VICS System Operation:

1. Start engine and run at idle.
2. Verify that actuator rod is pulled into actuator at idle.

NOTE: Shutter valve actuator rod extends under these conditions:
^ When starting engine and for 5 seconds after starting.
^ When throttle is opened in D range and engine speed is 1100 - 4800 rpm.

CHECK VALVE

Check Valve Inspection:

1. Remove check valve.
2. Blow through A and verify air flows from B.
3. Blow through B and verify air does not flow from A.
