Cold Start Relay: Description and Operation
PURPOSEWhen energized, the cold start relay provides a circuit path to ground for the cold start injector.
LOCATION
Relay panel forward of left strut tower.
OPERATION
The relay gets battery power at its hold-in coil from the main relay when the ignition is turned ON, and is energized when the PCME completes the circuit to ground. When energized, the relay connects the ground side of the cold start injector to ground through the cold start thermoswitch.
