DESCRIPTION
The vehicle's cross member may bottom out on a speed bump, dip or while ascending a steep ramp. This may damage the leading edge of the cross member.
To prevent this condition, the leading edge of the cross member has been changed and the coil spring length in the front suspension has been increased 8 mm.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Vehicles with damaged cross members should have the new cross member and coil springs installed. Refer to section R of the workshop manual for instructions.
NOTE:
Left and right coil springs must be the same height. Match the springs by checking the color of paint sprayed on the fourth or fifth coil from the bottom of the spring.
PARTS INFORMATION
Interchangeability Code:
A=A new part can be used in place of an old part but an old part can not be used in place of a new part.
AN=A new part and old part are fully interchangeable.
NOTE:
The coil springs do not have a part number stamped on them. Identify them by the color of paint sprayed on the fourth or fifth coil from the bottom of the spring.
