DESCRIPTION
A rattling noise may be heard from the center console. The noise is most evident when driving over rough roads.
This noise is caused by a loose console lid.
To correct this condition, the striker on the console lid has been modified.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
To eliminate the noise, install two plastic rivets (fasteners) in the console lid. This will reduce the gap between the console and the lid. Follow the instructions below.

1. Open console lid and mark the console rubber cushions with chalk.

2. Close the console to transfer the chalk marks from the cushions to the lid.

3. Carefully drill a 5 mm hole in the lid in the two areas indicated by the chalk.

NOTE:
Do not drill the hole larger than 5 mm. Do not drill through the console lid. Install a drill stop if necessary.

4. Remove 6 mm from the bottom of the plastic rivet (fasteners) and install them in the holes.
