Harness Operation
1. Record pre-set audio stations and disconnect negative battery cable.2. Remove rear door trim.
3. Remove door lock actuator.
4. Cut the harness near the male connector.
5. Remove the terminals from the female connector and cut the harness at the terminals. Refer to Fig 2, steps 1 - 3
NOTE:
The harness between the female connector and actuator is short. Pulling the terminals out of the connector provides 3Omm in length. This length is required for splicing.
^ Remove yellow cap from female connector by prying alternately on each side.
^ Pry terminal internal locks upward and remove terminals.
6. Strip insulator (enough for splicing) from all harnesses (including intermediate).
7. Splice, solder and tape color coded wires of the intermediate harness into the actuator and vehicle harnesses. Refer to Fig. 3
NOTE:
Stagger the connections between the vehicle harness and the intermediate harness as shown. Stagger the connections between the actuator and the intermediate harness as much as possible.
8. Wrap loose wires with tape on both vehicle and actuator sides. Tape should cover all splicing and merge with vehicle harness.
9. Install rear door trim.
10. Connect negative battery terminal and reset audio stations and clock.
