REAR DOOR WINDOW INOPERATIVE

APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS

All 1992 - 95 929 model vehicles with a VIN of JM1HD461*S0404281 and lower.

DESCRIPTION

The rear door power window does not operate. This concern may be caused by a broken window regulator cable protector. The protector breaks at the Joint and results in power window operation failure. The breakage is due to exposure to high ambient temperatures for long periods of time.

To correct this concern, the cable protector incorporates a "rib" for increased rigidity.

Customers complaining that the rear power window is inoperative should have the vehicle inspected and repaired according to this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURES

1. Verify the complaint by operating the power window main and sub switches.

2. Operate the switch and check for sound from the power window motor.

^ If sound is heard, the cable protector may be broken and require regulator replacement.

^ If no motor operation is heard, refer to section S of the workshop manual or the BETM for troubleshooting and repair information.

NOTE:
Replacing the cable protector is difficult. Therefore, the protector is not available as a service part.
